Karen Haldane

I wanted some direction on how to train for triathlons and prior to joining F4L was finding it difficult to get the motivation to train. Now all I have to do is go out and do the training and the planning and technical side is left to Paul. I am now very motivated and throughly enjoy every aspect of my training.

My main goals for 2012 are to perform well at the three middle distance triathlons I have entered. In particular the Highland Warrior in September which is also the Scottish Championships. I am hoping to do well in the Scottish league tables for the open water and standard section too. A bonus would be to qualify for the 2013 European Standard which is incorporated in the strathclyde standard race in September. But this season is also about mentally and physically preparing myself for an Iron distance debut at the Outlaw in 2013. To this end I will be looking at participating over a 100 mile bike time-trial during the season.

Knowing that the training you are doing is right for me as an individual. It is a great that I just look at my schedule and do, no need to wonder what should I do today or as I often did, make it up as I go along! Paul is great at adding a positive twist to any situation.

I love all aspects of the training and recently we had a F4L training weekend and I thoroughly enjoyed training with others like minded folk.

I am now training harder and more consistently then I have for a long time and more importantly I look forward to my next session. My swim technique is weak and we are currently working on this and the improvements are coming….
