Case Studies

Ian (United Kingdom):

Paul has revolutionised my training and in only a few weeks I could genuinely see and feel the difference.

I'd had my butt kicked by Paul in just about every Triathlon I entered and hence witnessed at first hand his ability. Subsequently, when I recently learnt that Paul was prepared to share his experience and enthusiasm with mere mortals I jumped at the chance to learn from the best.

In 2009 I had the season of my life - winning my first Triathlon (Newbiggin Sprint), competing at the Timberman 70.3 (8th in age group / 35th overall) where I qualified for Clearwater (70.3 World Champs) and then nailing that to finish 17th in my age-group in 4hrs 11mins.

Paul has put structure and content into my training and renewed my waning enthusiasm for triathlon. He is seemingly always available to answer questions, provide guidance and has been a pillar of support throughout my training and racing programme. Irrespective of your current ability, if you want to improve and enjoy your sport more, Paul will get you there.

PS. ITU long distance champs 2011 - Vegas, baby.

Angel (United States):

Angel King is a triathlete currently living and training in Naples, FL. Angel is a seasoned Sprint/Olympic competitor and always up for a challenge. She competed in 18 triathlons her first full season, and completed her first 70.3 in November 2009. Under her new coach Paul Jones of F4L Coaching, she has a full season for 2010. Angel serves on the Board of Directors for the Island Coast Triathlon Club (ICTC).

Angel began running local races in 2006 and has competed in over 83 races of all types and distances. During cross training post knee injury in late 2008, she made friends with a man training for his first Ironman, at a local Masters Swim group and became inspired. Always up for a challenge and loving the spirit of competition, after a few months was prompted to give Triathlon a chance, the rest is history...

"For 2010 I wanted to take it to the next level and my sponsors wanted me to break out of my shell - that's where Paul comes in. I'm hooked, I love every minute of training and the preparation that goes into a race, I get carried away at times, but I wouldn't have it any other way!"

Kevin (United Kingdom):

Been quite active since leaving school but when I joined the Royal Air Force several sporting opportunities became available to me including Triathlon. Having never done one before I thought I would give it a go. First competitive season was in 2009 however I didn’t really have a structured plan. For 2010 I wanted to take it to the next level.

A friend told me about Paul and gave me his website. I contacted him and the rest is history. He has helped me fit training in and around my lifestyle. We have regular communication and meet as often as my schedule lets me.

Paul's flexible approach to coaching me means that my training is achievable with my lifestyle... here's to a fantastic 2010 season.

Hazel (United Kingdom):

I made it to the World Age Group Sprint Championships in Hamburg. I'm so pleased with myself for doing it.

Paul set my program and worked with me for over a year to achieve this. Without his help and support it would never have happened and I don't think I would believed it could happen. He pushed me to a new level. Thanks.

PS - not racing this year as I am expecting...

Michelle (United Kingdom):

Truthfully, there is no way I would have made it through Ironman Austria without your coaching and support. I drew on many of the things that you taught me over the last 6 months, mostly to stay positive and to work through the down times.

Thank you for all your help to get me through the day. I've already entered for 2010 and my husband has too...

Barry (United Kingdom):

Paul has helped me achieve the impossible - I completed Ironman Lanzarote this year in a personal best time. Paul helped keep me motivated throughout the winter - its cold in Northumberland through December, January and February!

Without the specific sessions and constant feedback from Paul I would never had completed the training that I needed to do. Lanzarote was a fantastic experience and one I would love to do again in the future.
